Pinewood Derby

Chris participated in his first Pinewood Derby last night.  It was fun, there was a good group of kids.  Chris finished 4th fastest, he had 2nd until his last run and that dropped him 2 places.  He had fun picking out how Mat was going to build his car! :)

I can't do laundry, where would Molly sleep?

I debated whether or not I should post this picture, I know I don't do laundry but does everyone need to know?  If you look close you can see a dog in there.  It was hilarious to find her here so I figured I would share. 

Dinosaur Park Field Trip

Sydney's class got to go to Dinosaur Park today for their field trip.  Let me tell you, just because the sun is out does not mean that it is warm.  It was so cold today.  I am so ready for some warmth.

This picture documents the first time that 2 boys were fighting over Sydney. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.  Cameron climbed up next to Sydney and asked me to take a picture of them, when Ryan saw this happening he climbed up right in front of Cameron, and a fight ensued between them to be next to Sydney in the picture.  It only stopped once I ensured Cameron I had gotten a picture of him and Syd together.

Bath Time

This is a common occurrence, but Nate felt it record worthy.  Molly LOVES her baths and usually has one every other day. After you have soaped her up and you are rinsing her off she usually starts to doze off.

It's Good to have an Aunt

I'm not much of a hockey fan, but my sister is and fortunately for Chris she likes to take him to the games with her.  It's good to have an aunt that likes you, think of all the experiences Chris would miss if it weren't for Michelle.  Here is Chris and Ryan with Grizbee the Utah Grizzlies mascot.  Thanks Michelle.  Chris had a GREAT time.

Good Job Sydney

Some of you may know that Sydney has a talent with Reading.  Where she got this I don't know and I'm not quite sure what to do about it.  But, her teacher Mrs. Booth is amazing and has a 1000 word challenge that she does for the 1st graders.  These are the 1000 most used words in reading. This is totally voluntary and no child is ever expected to do it.  Sydney has been waiting to do this since Chris started it last year.  How it works is, Sydney gets a sheet of 25 words she must be able to read these words in a minute, once she can read them in a minute she takes it to school and passes it off.  She then gets the next list of 25 words.  Once she has read words 1-100, she brings home a list of all the previous 100 words and has to pass off this list in 2 minutes.  It goes on like this until she finishes or gets sick of doing it and quits.  If she reaches the end and has read all 1000 words, she gets a trophy.  Sydney has been working on this since the beginning of the 2nd quarter.  She finished half way through the 3rd quarter passing off a list everyday that she could.  (That 25 word list that she had to read in a minute, not once did she take longer than 16 seconds, and the 100 word list - One minute or under).  Of all 1000 words there were 3 that I can remember that she needed help with.  So she got her trophy today and we are very proud of her.
